Herschel Betts ’51, Oberlin, was honored the 2012 Outstanding Citizen of the Year Award.
William C. Kitchen ’50 ’51, Lawrence, died December 22, 2011.  
Darrell G. Seibel ’55, Hays, received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2012 Annual Awards Luncheon for the Hays Rotary club.

Patricia "Pat" (Sheets) Florence ’68, Lincoln, retired from Lincoln USD 289.
Joe D. McLeland ’69, Wichita, retired from the Kansas House of Representatives after 12 years of service to the citizens of Kansas.
Maynard Oliverius ’66, Hays, retired as CEO of Stormont-Vail Healthcare after 15 years of service.
S. Alene (Renner) Yeradi ’67, LaCrosse, passed away January 31, 2011.

Michael Kreller ’78, ’82, Victoria, was re-elected to the board of directors and management of Document Resources, Inc.
George Dennis Martin ’70, Larned, died January 21, 2012.
Charles C. Skilling ’79, Garden City, published Job Hunting Techniques for Everyone in 2011.
John Vogt ’76, ’77, Haven, is an agriculture loan officer for Mid-Kansas Credit Union.

Steve E. Gillispie ’88, Jacksonville, Ala., was named head baseball coach for Youngstown State University, Youngstown, Ohio.
Kraig Gross ’82, Hays, was reappointed to a third term for The Sunflower Foundation board of trustees.
Eva (VonLintel) Junk ’88, ’93, Hays, received the honor of being named the Hays Master Teacher, an award that requires a nominee to be a member of NEA and have been teaching for at least five years.
Rebecca "Becky" Kiser ’80, ’94, Hays, received first place from the Mid-America Cable Show organization for community programming series for fewer than 10,000 subscribers.
James Leiker ’84, ’92 and Cherie Pitts, were married Jan. 7, 2012.
Michael Wade ’86, Arvada, Colo., was promoted to vice president of Global Information Technologies for Terumo BCT.
